The guys at Backcountry Access don't like to waste space in the backcountry. The BCA Tour System
Shovel sticks to this mantra by stashing the Probe in the shaft of the shovel.
The Tour Shovel is among the lightest aluminum shovels available. The 6061 Series aluminum shovel
combined with the 6-foot probe inside the shaft weighs in at only 595g for the fixed length
and 794g for the extendable telescopic length. Yet the shovel has the
strength to power through any snowpack, even ice. The Tour's easy-to-grip oval shaft and
T-grip handle make working with a gloved hands a piece of cake.
