K2 Apache Pontoon Skis

Product Group: Freeride Skis | Product Added on August 30, 2006, Updated on November 13, 2008

K2 Apache Pontoon Ski In 2002, while Shane McConkey was riding for Volant, he invented the Spatula. The Spatula shocked the world with its reverse camber and reverse sidecut and most importantly, its performance in the powder. K2 brought this clever design to their 2006 lineup of skis with the release of the Pontoon, which is unchanged for 2009.

The K2 Pontoon is of massive proportions; 160mm in the tip, 130mm under foot and 120mm in the back. With a surf inspired rocker built into the ski giving it a bowed up tip and tail, the ski rises to the surface in any condition while the skier maintains a centered balance for maximum control. Although designed specifically for the pow, the Apache Pontoon incorporates sidecut into the design where you need it, right under foot.
