Just like your first external-frame pack, the Jansport Scout Backpack features a panel-loading design and a sleeping bag bar shelf. This three- or four-day pack works well for teenagers and beginning backpackers, as the external aluminum frame adjusts easily to accommodate torso lengths from 13 to 17 inches. The breathable mesh lumbar cushion allows air to circulate and keep the back cool during summer trips into the backcountry. Jansport constructed the Scout Backpack with two side water bottle pockets for close-at-hand hydration and two daisy chains for gear clippage.
